Ron NaVarre

Ron NaVarre has been teaching at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute for more than twenty seven years. As an actor, dancer, and singer, Ron has worked on Broadway in the original company of A Chorus Line and in James Clavel’s Shogun The Musical. Television: This Weeks Music with Cindy Lauper, Chaka Khan and Livingston Taylor. Film: Arrowtooth Waltz with Jonny Depp and Vincent Gallo, Single White Female with Bridget Fonda and Jennifer Jason Leigh, Fatal Attraction with Michael Douglas and Glenn Close. Ron has choreographed for television, film, night clubs and cabarets and has worked with such luminaries as Jason Robert Brown, Michael Bennett, Lena Horn, Marvin Hamlisch, Liza Minnelli, Bobby Short, and Yolonda King. Industrial theater and commercials include; IBM, Mattel, Champion Sports, Fischer Price, Hudson Bay and Nintendo.

As an adjunct Professor, Ron has taught tai chi at Fordham University at Lincoln Center, New York University, and the Pacific Institute of Chinese Medicine. He has taught dance and movement at The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Center and Steps Studio in NYC. Ron is the founder of Stress Defense Inc. and has taught seminars on stress management, self-healing and effective communication to fortune 500 companies, business professionals and performing artists. A lifelong martial artist he has trained in Tang Soo Do, TaeKwon Do, Hapkido, Aikido and Tai Chi Chuan. In the healing arts, Ron has taught mindfulness meditation, yoga, tai chi, qigong, Reiki and Rei Qong for over forty years.  Ron maintains a private practice as an energy therapist and spiritual counselor in NYC.
