“Tony Awards 2015: Kelli O’Hara Wins Best Actress in a Musical!”
Kelli O’Hara was awarded best actress in a musical for her performance in The King and I at the Tony Awards on Sunday night.
Former Tonys host Neil Patrick Harris presented the award to the actress, who beat out Kristin Chenoweth (On the Twentieth Century), Leanne Cope (An American in Paris), Beth Malone (Fun Home) and Chita Rivera (The Visit) to win the honor.
The King and I was nominated in a total of nine categories. Earlier in the night, O’Hara’s co-star Ruthie Ann Miles took home the award for best featured actress in a musical.
