STUDENT EXPERIENCE
My child has never acted before. Do they need professional experience to join the program?
No, your child does not need professional experience to join Young Actors at Strasberg. Our program is for both the serious young actor and those who are just beginning! We welcome all experience levels and usually have a balanced mix of new students and those with some training under their belts.
What grade does my child have to be in to participate?
We accept students in grades 2 through 12. We will only interview a student once they are 7 years old. After a student turns 18 and has graduated from high school, they are eligible to apply for our adult programs.
How many students are in each class?
All classes are capped at 16 students. Classes for students in grades 2–6 each have a program aide in addition to their instructor.
Will my child be with kids that are the same age?
Yes! The Young Actors program is divided into four age categories:
· Littles (grades 2-4)
· Middles (grades 5-6)
· Juniors (grades 7-9)
· Seniors (grades 10-12)
If my child is between age groups, which Summer Program should I choose?
After your child’s Admissions Interview, you will get a personalized recommendation about which group to sign up for.
What if my child is more experienced, advanced, or mature than other students their age?
If you feel your child may be better suited for an older age group, please let us know during the Admissions Interview. We’ll take this into careful consideration and discuss the best course of action to support your child’s growth and experience in the program.

Congratulations! With an acceptance letter, you will also receive a registration form. We recommend returning the paperwork and tuition payment quickly in order to reserve your child’s spot in the class. Their seat in the program will only be reserved once all paperwork is completed and tuition is paid in full.

Nope! If your child previously attended the Young Actors Program, there’s no need to reapply — even if they took a few semesters off. Simply email [email protected] directly to request a registration form.
