YOUNG ACTORS AT STRASBERG
At The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, our mission is to EDUCATE, ENGAGE, and EMPOWER students by introducing them to Lee Strasberg’s Method Acting, fostering an appreciation for performance and a strong sense of their own artistic voice.
The Young Actors Program at LSTFI offers a comprehensive array of acting programs for students in grades 2 – 12. Our classes provide kids and teens with a foundation in The Method and tools to succeed in the professional industry – all while maintaining a fun and playful environment. Programs are tailored to encompass students at all levels, from those just beginning their acting journey to Broadway veterans and professional child actors. Young Actors at Strasberg alumni include Lady Gaga, Sophia Lillis, Angelina Jolie, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Rosario Dawson!
WHAT IS METHOD ACTING?
Method Acting, also known as The Method, is a world-renowned acting technique created and taught by Lee Strasberg. Building on the work of Konstantin Stanislavsky, Lee developed The Method to help actors deliver authentic and nuanced performances by calling on their own life experiences. The actor uses their personal life to inspire their imaginations and to relate to the life of the character as only they can. Young Actors at Strasberg students will study Lee’s relaxation and sense memory exercises while learning to make creative choices and explore the art of storytelling.
Young Actors at Strasberg Programs are available online and in-person at our New York Campus. We offer Saturday, After-School and Online classes during the traditional school year (Fall, Winter, and Spring) and one- and two-week summer programming through July and August.
