James McLure is the author of LONE STAR and PRIVATE WARS, which opened Off-Broadway at the Century Theatre in 1979 to critical acclaim. The following year his play LAUNDRY AND BOURBON premiered at the McCarter Theatre. These plays have subsequently been produced throughout the United States and the United Kingdom, and PRIVATE WARS received an outstanding production at the Image Theatre in Oslo, Norway. Other plays include THANKSGIVING, THE DAY THEY SHOT JOHN LENNON, MAX AND MAXIE, RIVER CANE, NAPOLEON NIGHTDREAMS, and LOSS IN LEAST. His play WILD OATS was presented at the Olympic Arts Festival, Mark Taper Forum. Mr. McLure’s work for television includes “The Guys” for Reeves Communications and “Boss Lady” for Proctor & Gamble. He also wrote original screenplays for Columbia Pictures, Universal Pictures, and Twentieth Century-Fox. He enjoyed collaborations with filmmakers Robert Altman and Walter Hill and his work is published through Dramatists Play Service.
