StrasbergWORKS
STUDENT-LED THEATRE IN NYC
The StrasbergWORKS program is an initiative of The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, created to encourage students to develop and produce their own work. This series offers a valuable opportunity to take creative risks and explore new play ideas in a safe, supportive environment.
Each year, an original student-written play is hand-selected by a committee and produced in one of LSTFI’s mainstage theatre spaces. The selected playwright leads the project as producer or director, with fellow Institute and NYU Strasberg students filling out the cast, crew, and creative team.
The program is designed to give students the chance to explore roles beyond acting, including writing, directing, stage management, design, and other technical aspects of theatre. The StrasbergWORKS team is given access to LSTFI resources, including rehearsal space, prop and costume inventories, guidance from LSTFI’s Production Manager, and a stipend to support the production.
