A recent Alum of LSTFI, Rafael Beato has hit the ground running. Since he left the program in 2014 he has taken on several film and theatre projects; however, his recent role as “Rafa” in Repertorio Español’s production of “La Cancion” has earned him an ACE Award for Best Actor in a Musical at the 2017 award ceremony. A very talented actor from the Dominican Republic, Rafael is a hard worker who is determined to keep moving.
In his speech he explained: “Sometimes it is difficult for me to look back and feel pride in what I have achieved, since I am always thirsty for more, but seeing myself where I am today has to fill me with satisfaction because at my age I am doing what I love and I try to put the name of my country on high. I still need a lot more and I look forward to it”
