PART-TIME ACTING PROGRAMS IN NYC

PART-TIME PROGRAMS (DOMESTIC STUDENTS ONLY)

Part-time programs at LSTFI in New York City offer flexible scheduling, allowing students to study Lee Strasberg’s Method Acting technique according to their needs and availability. Students may study part-time each term with the option to alternate between part-time and full-time enrollment. The program allows flexibility in the hours taken per term; for example, a student might register for 8 hours in the Fall, 12 hours in the Winter, and 16 hours in the Spring or alternate full-time (22 hours) and part-time study according to their needs.

Classes are offered Monday to Friday from 9am – 10pm and limited options on Saturday. Students choose their class schedule from available classes each term during the registration period.

ELIGIBILITY & MINIMUM HOURS

PART-TIME PROGRAM: New students must enroll for a minimum of 8 hours (two Method Acting classes with different teachers) and may add on additional two or four-hour classes a la carte.

PART-TIME CONSERVATORY PROGRAM: Students can choose to take the One Year Conservatory program requirements part-time over up to six terms of study and enroll in 10 to 16 hours of classes per week. Students will work with an advisor to plan a schedule each term that advances them in the program requirements, and students attend the same classes as the full-time Conservatory.

SAG-AFTRA SPECIAL: SAG-AFTRA members, including those who have not previously studied at The Institute, can take a minimum of one 4-hour Method Acting class a week and are permitted to add on additional classes as desired. SAG-AFTRA members are eligible for a 20% discount on the tuition fee.

Once a student registers, the administration will send a notification for the program’s Orientation Date. Orientation attendance is mandatory for new students.

International students may not study part-time unless on a type of visa that permits this. No part-time study is permitted in 12-Week or Conservatory programs on a tourist visa or the F-1 student visa. Students on work visas, dependent visas or other types, may study part time if their visa status allows.

Veterans or dependents on VA funding may only study full-time in the Two Year Conservatory program.
