1 Year Conservatory – LA Campus



The One Year Conservatory follows the same course of study as the first nine months of the Two Year Conservatory (Certificate Program). With 22 hours of classes per week, this program emphasizes the fundamental aspects of The Method while ensuring a concentrated but broad-based instruction for the body and voice, as well as theatre history.

The program requires 36 weeks (three 12-Week sessions) of dedicated training and full-time study. Upon successful completion of the One-Year Conservatory Program (66 clock credit hours), students will receive a formal Certificate of Completion.


Tuition for the One-Year Conservatory Program is $19,500. Tuition may be paid all at once, or in three installments, one before the start of each session. Installments require additional non-refundable registration fees with each new session.

* A non-refundable registration fee is applied each session. $150 Domestic Students, $250 International Students.
** A non-refundable materials fee of $100 due in first session.
*** A non-refundable Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) fee is applied to tuition.
**** Additional fees may be applied to all tuition fees.
SAG/AFTRA members receive a 10% tuition discount


The One-Year Conservatory (Certificate Program) in Los Angeles consists of three 12-Week sessions of full-time study (22 classroom hours a week) and includes the following course requirements. Courses vary by session.

Acting Technique (Major Area) : 36 Clock Credits
History & Criticism : 6 Clock Credits
Voice and Movement : 12 Clock Credits
Free Electives : 12 Clock Credits
Totals : 66 Clock Credits

Students who wish to continue their studies to complete the Two-Year Conservatory must be in excellent standing with the Institute and have completed all One-Year Professional Acting Conservatory requirements.

*Credit awarded in the Conservatory program does not count toward the 2-year AOS degree program.
