12 WEEK ACTING PROGRAM IN LA
LOS ANGELES 12 WEEK PROGRAM
The 12-Week Program is designed for any student interested in beginning their Method Acting training. Classes are held Monday through Friday, and students may enroll full-time (22 hours/week) or part-time (8 hours/week). Course offerings and times vary by session.
Students who successfully complete the 12-Week Program (Part-Time or Full-Time) will be awarded a Certificate of Participation. Students also have the option to re-register and continue their studies.
FULL-TIME PROGRAM
The Full-Time Program of study is designed for simple integration and progression into the One- or Two-Year Conservatory program. The curriculum mirrors the first term of a Conservatory program and consists of 22 clock hours per week:
- (2) Method Acting (MAT100) courses with different teachers for a total of 8 hours/week
- (1) of the following: Acting for TV/Film (MAT130), Improv (MAT110), OR Scene Study (MAT120) for a total of 4 hours/week
- (1) Voice 1 (VMV105) for a total of 2 hours/week
- (1) Movement 1 (VMV100) for a total of 2 hours/week
- 1 History (HSC) class for a total of 2 hours/week
- 4 hours of free electives
Successful completion of the 12-Week Full-Time Program counts toward completion of a Conservatory Certificate for students who wish to continue their training. Please note, credit awarded in the 12-Week Program does not count toward the 2-Year AOS Degree Program.
PART-TIME PROGRAM
The Part-Time Program is intended for those who are employed and require a flexible schedule or evening classes. It includes two Method Acting (MAT100) classes with different teachers for a total of 8 clock hours per week.
For students who wish to continue their Method Acting training, re-enrollment in additional 12-Week Part-Time terms is common.
Please note, the Part-Time Program does not count toward Conservatory or certificate completion. See Part-Time Pathway for Part-Time Conservatory options.
START DATES
The 12-Week Program, One-Year and Two-Year Conservatory Programs all have four start dates each year: Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer. If admitted, students may begin their training at the start of any session.
