Pat Kiely

Pat Kiely is a writer/director/actor. He has directed 10 feature films, mostly in comedy and romantic comedy. Some of note include ANOTHER KIND OF WEDDING, starring Kathleen Turner, Wallace Shawn, and Frances Fisher. THREE NIGHT STAND premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival. WHO IS KK DOWNEY?, which he also starred in, opened with the highest per screen average in Canada and won him four best director awards at fests around the world. John Anderson at VARIETY called it “A truly funny movie.”  As an actor, Kiely recently appeared alongside Gabriel Byrne in the feature film, DEATH OF A LADIES MAN. He played a key role in Denis Villeneuve’s ARRIVAL, which was nominated for BEST PICTURE at the Academy Awards. He also appeared in THE LIFE AND DEATH OF JOHN F. DONOVAN starring Kit Harrington and Natalie Portman. He has acted in numerous television shows – some notables include BEING HUMAN (Syfy) and SEED (Rogers). Kiely got his start as a founding member of KidnapperFilms, a punk-rock film group that mounted live comedy shows. Kidnapper toured around North America, playing stages like UCB (NY), Comedy Central Stage (LA), and earned a showcase at the Just for Laughs Festival (MONTREAL).
