The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute Actor Showcase offers a select number of students and alumni the chance to perform live in Los Angeles,for an esteemed audience of casting directors, agents, producers, and entertainment industry leaders. The showcase is open to applicants who have completed at least a 12-Week Program at LSTFI in either Los Angeles or New York.
Please note, this showcase takes place in-person in Los Angeles. All participants will be responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses.
If you have previously submitted for the LSTFI Casting Database: 1) Log in to your Casting42 profile to find the Actors Showcase casting under the “Active Castings” tab. The 2027 Actors Showcase Casting will not be posted and available for submissions until Fall 2026. 2) Update your profile (as applicable) and “Save” to submit to the Showcase Casting. 3) Receive a self-tape audition request through Casting42 within 1-3 business days. 4) Upload your audition with slate. If you have not previously joined the Casting Database: 1) Join Casting42 via the link below. 2) “Save” and your Casting42 profile will be created while concurrently submitting for the Showcase. 3) Receive a self-tape audition request through Casting42 within 1-3 business days (after your eligibility has been confirmed). 4) Upload your audition with slate. For your audition, actors should prepare and film an approximately 2-minute contemporary monologue or two-person scene (reader off-camera). Please slate your name and the title of your material at the start of your audition video. Contemporary comedic or dramatic material from a movie or television show is required. Special skills in singing, musical instruments, or dancing may be highlighted if applicable.
This showcase will be highly competitive; a limited number of actors will be selected. Please choose audition material that best highlights your strengths and range as an actor.

ELIGIBILITY QUESTIONS
Do I have to be an LSTFI student or alumni to be eligible to apply?
Yes. You must have completed a minimum of 12 weeks of study at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute.
Can I apply if I completed my studies before 2020?
Yes.
Am I eligible if I completed a short-term Intensive?
No. You must have completed a minimum of 12 weeks of study at The Lee Strasberg Institute (Los Angeles or New York campus). Completion of a Workshop or Intensive less than 12 weeks does not qualify.
Do I have to be eligible to work in the US to apply?
No, however US work authorization is preferred.
Does my Online Program count toward the 12 week requirement?
No. Completion of a 12-Week Program (Part-Time or Full-Time) minimum is required.
Is there an age requirement?
All participants must be 18+ years of age.
SUBMISSION QUESTIONS
How do I apply for the Actor Showcase?
You can submit for the Spring 2027 Showcase through Casting42. After completing the form, click “Save” to submit. You will receive a request for a self-tape audition video within 1-3 days if you meet the eligibility criteria. Login to your Casting42 account and go to “Active Castings” to confirm your submission. The “Request for Self Audition” is in the “Active Casting” section.
You will be available to submit your audition video in “Active Casting” once it’s been requested.
Do I have to be in the LSTFI Casting Database to apply?
No, you do not need to have previously submitted to the Casting Database. Although, when you apply to the Showcase Casting, you will automatically be added to the Strasberg Casting Database!
Why did I get an email saying I joined the LSTFI Casting Database?
When you apply to the Showcase, you will automatically be added to the LSTFI Casting Database. Your Database profile will automatically be reviewed for approval during the next registration cycle. You can view the Showcase Casting under “Active Castings” in your profile.
Do I have to submit a reel?
No. A reel is not required for your Actor Showcase submission.
You will be asked to include a reel for your Casting 42 profile. If you have a reel, please include it. However, you may also include a link to your audition tape, website, or any other digital content when prompted for a link.
Please note – if you include your audition video as the showreel link, this is not the same as completing your showcase audition. You must submit to the casting under the “Active Casting” tab.
I’m already in the LSTFI Casting Database, how do I submit for the Showcase?
If you already have already submitted to the LSTFI Casting Database, simply login to your Casting42 account and go to the “Active Castings” tab to find the casting call for LSTFI Spring 2027 Actors Showcase. Update your profile as needed and “Save” to submit.
Do I need to submit an audition tape?
Yes. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you will receive a self-tape audition request which you can see and upload in the “Active Castings” tab of your Casting42 account. Prepare and film an approximately 2-minute contemporary monologue or a two-person scene.
Can I edit my submission?
You will be able to edit your Casting42 profile, including headshot, bio, reel link, etc. at any time. Once your audition tape is uploaded in the Active Casting for the Showcase, that submission is final.
SELECTION QUESTIONS
When will I be notified if I’ve been selected?
Both callbacks and rejections will be notified by December 9, 2026. Selections will be made shortly after.
Do I need to be in Los Angeles for rehearsals and performances?
Yes. You must be in Los Angeles for the rehearsals and showcase performance; however you do not need to be a resident of Los Angeles to participate. If you are not local to Los Angeles we will work together to schedule rehearsals that fit in with your schedule, however you MUST be available to schedule in person rehearsals before the performance date in April 2027.
