C. Alexander

C. is an actor, teacher, and formally trained classical musician in Operatic Voice, Cello and Piano. They have played and sung under renowned conductors at the Kennedy Center, Notre Dame, Viterbo Italia Mainstage, Hawaii Mainstage Opera, Carnegie Hall and St. John the Divine. They received their certification in longform improv at the Magnet School of Improv under Rick Andrews in 2013, and was a longtime pupil of Seth Barrish at the Barrow Group, studying scene analysis and playing Shakespeare. Work in Shakespeare also extends into numerous roles with Shakespearean companies, including Hamlet Isn’t Dead, Barefoot Shakespeare Company, Hudson Shakespeare, Bergen Shakespeare of NJ, NYCTO Rep and Genesius Theatre Company. In 2018, C. was a hand-selected artist for Commonwealth Shakespeare Company’s CSC2 12-actor residency, performing a tour of Macbeth and Richard III in Boston Common Arena. in 2018, C. was a co-winner of the annual NYC Strawberry Theatre One-Act Festival under the direction of Gloria Craig. C. is also a proud collaborator with the LGBT Pride Center of Brooklyn, helping to marry the concept of the art of Method acting with healing trauma as a means of coping. They hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from Manhattan School of Music, as well as a two-year certificate from LSTFI. Since 2017, C. has run a privately taught acting studio, further connecting with artists, utilizing the method in monologue and scene work.
