Kelsey Torstveit

Kelsey hails from Phoenix, AZ.  She is a NYC based AEA actress and playwright.  Her recent acting credits include: …Where you Eat (Wild Project, NYC), Blithe Spirit (Capital Repertory Theatre), The Turn of the Screw  (Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater, voted favorite performance of 2017 by The Cape Cod Times), Theory of Mind  (Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Capital Repertory Theatre). BFA: NYU Acting and Creative Writing.  Outstanding Achievement in Studio Award recipient from NYU and the Lee Strasberg Institute in 2012.   In 2011, Kelsey performed in the Institute’s Alumni production of A Hatful of Rain that traveled to the iTSeLF Theatre Festival in Warsaw, Poland as the representative theatre school from America.  As a writer, Kelsey was awarded the Bernard and Shirley Handel Fund Fellowship for Playwriting in 2017 from Byrdcliffe Arts Colony for “demonstrating superior skill and dedication to her work”.  The fellowship culminated in a staged reading of her one-act play The Octopus.  Her 2nd one-act, Lonelyhearts,  co-conceived with composer David Bird, went up in spring 2018 produced by Qubit New Music in an evening of one-acts with music called 21st Century Sound Stories, as a part of TAK Ensemble’s 2018 season.
