Founded by LSTFI Method Acting teacher Geoffrey Horne, Shakespeare Downtown is dedicated to providing an authentic and accessible Shakespearean experience. By staging free outdoor performances in Battery Park’s Castle Clinton monument, audience members experience the plays as they were originally done at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre 400 years ago – in the open-air, in the round, and on the water.
The Shakespeare Downtown company is comprised entirely of LSTFI and Young Actors at Strasberg students, faculty, and alumni.
